Traveling to New York

Below are a few of the most convenient options for guests traveling to our celebration.

By Car
Many of our guests will likely be driving into the city. Street parking is available throughout Chelsea, though it can take some time to find a spot depending on the day and time. If you'd rather not search for parking, there are several public parking garages within a short walk of Bottino. We recommend reserving a space in advance. If you're staying overnight, your hotel may also offer valet or on-site parking.
By Train
If you're traveling from the Northeast Corridor, Amtrak offers direct service to Penn Station from many major cities. Penn Station is about a 10-minute taxi or subway ride from Bottino.
By Air
The New York area is served by three major airports:

LaGuardia Airport (LGA) — The closest airport to Chelsea, with taxi and rideshare access into Manhattan.

John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) — Easily reached by taxi, rideshare, or AirTrain connections to the subway and Long Island Rail Road.

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) — A convenient option with direct train service into Penn Station, followed by a short taxi or subway ride to Chelsea.
Getting Around
Chelsea is a wonderfully walkable neighborhood, and the rest of the city is easily reached by subway, taxi, or rideshare. If you're planning to explore beyond the neighborhood, the subway is often the fastest and easiest way to get around.

Hotel Chelsea
One of New York's most iconic hotels, Hotel Chelsea has welcomed artists, writers, and musicians for generations. Beautifully restored, it combines rich history with thoughtfully designed rooms, several restaurants and bars, and one of the city's most distinctive atmospheres.

A modern hotel with thoughtfully designed, compact rooms. It's a comfortable option for guests who plan to spend most of their time exploring the city while staying close to the celebration.
18-minute walk
Chelsea Pines Inn
A charming and affordable boutique inn known for its welcoming atmosphere and classic Hollywood-inspired décor. Please note that the building does not have an elevator.

Whether you're staying the weekend or simply visiting for the day, we hope you'll have time to explore. The city is easy to navigate by subway, making neighborhoods across Manhattan just a short ride away. If you're spending time in Chelsea, however, these are a few places we especially recommend.

Start the Day
Sullivan Street Bakery
One of the neighborhood's best bakeries for coffee, flaky pastries, and fresh bread. It's a wonderful place to begin your morning before setting out to explore the city.
Take a Walk
The High Line
Built on a historic elevated railway, the High Line winds above Chelsea through gardens, public art, and views of the Hudson River. October is one of our favorite times to visit, when the grasses turn golden and the air begins to cool.
Little Island
Just beyond the High Line, this floating park offers beautifully landscaped paths, quiet places to sit, and sweeping views of the Hudson River. It's especially lovely in the late afternoon.
Hudson River Park
Stretching along the waterfront, Hudson River Park is a peaceful place for a walk, with open views of the river and plenty of places to pause along the way.
Browse & Wander
Whitney Museum of American Art
Located at the southern end of the High Line, the Whitney features an outstanding collection of American art, along with beautiful outdoor terraces overlooking the city and river.
Chelsea Market
Housed inside the former Nabisco factory, Chelsea Market is home to bakeries, cafés, specialty food shops, and small boutiques. It's an easy place to spend an hour or an afternoon.
Chelsea Flea
Open Saturdays and Sundays, Chelsea Flea is filled with antiques, vintage jewelry, books, artwork, and unexpected treasures.
West Village
One of our favorite neighborhoods to explore without an itinerary. Wander the tree-lined streets, admire the historic townhouses, and stop wherever looks inviting.
An Evening Stop
The Lobby at Hotel Chelsea
Even if you're not staying there, the Hotel Chelsea is worth a visit. Settle in with a cocktail or coffee and enjoy one of New York's most storied buildings, long associated with generations of artists, musicians, and writers.
